On Sunday 29th December 2013, the baptism of Heather and Jamie Phillips took place at Hasland Methodist Church. The family have a naval background as both parents, Andrew and Lindsey were in the Royal Navy. Although Andrew served in the Silent Service, the family have connections to TS Danae as both Heather and Andrew are involved at that unit.

The CO of TS Danae kindly permitted the bell to be used as the font for their baptism. The bell is approximately 15 inches deep and 12 inches in diameter. The inside is painted red, there was no clapper present within the bell as it was removed for the Baptism Ceremony. Usually, the bell hangs off a stand but a stand had to be improvised using part of a font from another church.

The bell is engraved in red on the side with HMS Danae 1967 and is also engraved around the rim with the names of those who have been baptised using the bell as a font. With Heather and Jamie, two more names can be added to the list.
